💥 Highlights: Proximity to nature, golf, pools, nice fitness center

Tetherow Hotel is located in SW Bend, making it one of the most convenient places to stay if you’re planning to ski at Mt. Bachelor or explore the lakes, trails, and viewpoints along the Cascade Lakes Highway.

Its hillside location also offers some of the most stunning, unobstructed views of the Cascade Mountain Range in all of Bend.

The property features 50 eco-friendly rooms in a variety of layouts—many with cozy sitting areas, fireplaces, and mountain views. Guests receive special golf rates, access to the pool, hot tubs, and fitness center, and free shuttle service.

Between the spacious rooms, scenery, and amenities, Tetherow is an incredibly comfortable and scenic home base for your Bend getaway.

2. Riverhouse Lodge

 RATING: 8.5/10 | 🐶 DOG-FRIENDLY:  Yes | BOOK NOW

💥 Highlights: River, sauna, firepits, every room is dog-friendly

I’ve stayed at Riverhouse Lodge, and the two highlights for me were: The Deschutes River—the hotel sits right on the riverbank—and the sauna.

The sounds of the river are so comforting to fall asleep and wake up to. You almost forget that you are actually centrally located in Bend! Many of the rooms even come with private firepits and s’mores kits for purchase.

Amenities include an indoor and outdoor pool, a hot tub, a large fitness center, and an on-site restaurant. And the biggest bonus: every single room is dog-friendly.

Riverhouse truly captures the Bend vibe—nature-immersed, cozy, and welcoming. This is definitely the best hotel in Bend, Oregon on the river.

3. Oxford Hotel Bend

 RATING: 9.5/10 | 🐶 DOG-FRIENDLY:  Yes | BOOK NOW

The front of a brick hotel and a basket of flowers

💥 Highlights: Downtown location, pillow menu, eco-friendly

Oxford Hotel is the best hotel in downtown Bend. It’s a chic, eco-conscious boutique hotel in the heart of downtown. The rooms are stocked with locally roasted coffee, organic bath products, and luxury pillow and soap menus.

Guests can borrow cruiser bikes in the summer to explore downtown and enjoy farm-to-table meals, small plates, and local beer and wine at the on-site restaurant, Roam. But fair warning, the service and cocktail menu leave something to be desired (especially the cocktails…sorry!).

If you love stylish, sustainable hotels with convenience and creative amenities, Oxford could be a great option for you.

4. Brasada

 RATING: 9/10 | 🐶 DOG-FRIENDLY:  some cabins | BOOK NOW

Paved pathway winding through a ranch resort

💥 Highlights: Property and views, lazy river, spa, activities

Brasada Ranch is about 20 minutes outside of Bend, in Powell Butte. It’s a luxury high-desert resort spanning 1,800 acres with 360-degree views of the Cascade Mountains.

Accommodations include modern adult-only bungalows, spacious family-friendly cabins (some pet-friendly), or elegant Ranch House rooms. All have upscale finishes, fireplaces, gourmet kitchens, and indoor-outdoor living. Many also include wrap-around decks or private hot tubs.

There is an 18-hole golf course, a 17,000-sq-ft athletic center with multiple pools, a lazy river, a water slide, tennis courts, a top-tier fitness facility, and a full-service spa with panoramic views.

Families will love The Hideout activity center, while food lovers can enjoy farm-to-table dining and outdoor firepits at the onsite restaurant. It’s a resort-style escape ideal for couples, families, and anyone wanting a spacious, nature-immersed stay just outside Bend.

Brasada also hosts weddings, and my husband is often the DJ! So we’ve been here several times. It’s the best luxury hotel in Bend.

5. LOGE Camps

hotel room

💥 Highlights: Outdoor gear use, hot tub/pool, live music, food carts

LOGE Camps is a great, affordable, adventure-focused hotel that embraces Bend’s outdoor culture. I stayed here at least 4 times before moving here. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with coffee stations and outdoorsy decor.

Plus, each room comes stocked with outdoor gear like headlamps, Yeti coolers, and hammocks that you can use during your stay (or keep and have charged to your card).

The property also offers camping and van spots, making it a great option for budget-friendly or gear-heavy trips.

Amenities include a seasonal outdoor pool, hot tub, sun terrace, outdoor firepits, and live music—locals even stop by for a beer and the community vibe.

You will have access to trails, parks, bike paths, Mt. Bachelor, and everything Cascade Lakes Highway has to offer. It’s one of the most unique places to stay in Bend and best places for hikers, bikers, skiers, and anyone here to play outside.

6. Juniper Preserve (Previously Pronghorn)

 RATING: 8.6/10 | 🐶 DOG-FRIENDLY:  Yes | BOOK NOW

Resort hotel with a pond

💥 Highlights: Golf course, wellness amenities, multiple restaurants

Juniper Preserve is a luxury wellness and golf resort set on a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course about 30 minutes outside of Bend.

The property features beautifully designed suites and spacious villas, each with a flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, and private patio. Guests come for the standout wellness amenities—including a spa, sauna, hot tub, fitness center, outdoor pool, and free bicycles—and families appreciate the kids’ club.

The on-site restaurant and tennis courts add to the resort feel, and visitors consistently rave about both the golf course and the overall wellness-focused atmosphere.

It’s important to note that Juniper Preserve is quite remote, with no nearby restaurants or shops; for many, that seclusion is part of the charm, but it can be a drawback if you want quick access to Bend’s dining or nightlife.

My husband also DJs weddings and corporate events here, so we’ve been several times! The property and surrounding area are beautiful.

7. McMenamins Old St. Francis School

 RATING: 9.1/10 | 🐶 DOG-FRIENDLY:  Yes | BOOK NOW

Entrance of a brick building

💥 Highlights: Outdoor gear use, hot tub/pool, live music, food carts

McMenamins Old St. Francis School is one of Bend’s most unique places to stay—a quirky, historic 1936 Catholic school transformed into a hotel, brewery, pub, movie theater, live-music venue, and soaking pool all in one.

Located in the heart of downtown, the property has 60 creatively decorated rooms spread across the original school building and the newer Art House and Ed House, where guests can wander secret hallways, discover hidden rooms (and even a secret bar), and enjoy the hotel’s gallery-like artwork honoring the school’s history.

While the rooms themselves are a bit dated for my taste, the charm, story, and amenities make up for it.

On-site dining includes a classic McMenamins pub and bar, and guests love the soaking pool, inner courtyard spaces, and easy walkability to Bend’s shops, parks, and restaurants.

It’s especially popular with travelers who appreciate history, character, and a fun, slightly whimsical stay right in the center of town.

8. SpringHill Suites by Marriott Bend

 RATING: 9/10 | 🐶 DOG-FRIENDLY:  Yes | BOOK NOW

brick hotel in bend oregon with fireplace and market lights in front

💥 Highlights: Location, location, location, affordability

The best thing about SpringHill Suites by Marriott Bend is its location, hands down. It’s located in the heart of the Old Mill District (across the street from the Box Factory), just a few steps from shops, restaurants, and the Amphitheater.

Rooms are modern, clean, and spacious with air conditioning. You can grab drinks or dinner at the on-site Boardroom Lobby Bar, which serves American dishes and local craft beer on tap.

The hotel offers easy access to pretty much everything in Bend, making it convenient for adventures. If you prefer a reliable, well-appointed chain hotel with an excellent location, SpringHill Suites is one of the best picks in Bend.

Bright and light hotel lobby with nice lighting

💥 Highlights: Proximity to the river, apartment-style rooms

Element Bend is a modern, comfortable hotel with spacious, apartment-style rooms—many featuring kitchenettes and workspaces.

Best Time to Visit Bend

Bend is a true four-season destination, and the best time to visit really depends on what you want to do. Here’s a quick breakdown to help you choose the right season for your trip:

Summer (June–September)

Best for: lakes, hiking, biking, breweries, concerts, river floating

Summer is Bend’s busiest season. Days are warm and sunny, nights are cool, and everything is open, from mountain lakes and hiking trails to the outdoor amphitheater. Hotel prices are highest this time of year, so booking early helps.

Fall (September–October)

Best for: great weather, fewer crowds, hiking, photography

Early fall is one of the very best times to visit. The weather is still warm, crowds thin out, and hotels often start to drop in price. Trails and lakes are still accessible, and the city has a relaxed, local feel again.

Winter (December–March)

Best for: skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cozy hotel stays

This is a great time to visit if you’re looking for winter sports or a more peaceful Bend getaway. Hotel prices vary depending on snow conditions and holidays.

Spring (April–May)

Best for: shoulder-season deals, fewer crowds, wildflowers

Spring in Bend is unpredictable—you might get sunshine, rain, or a surprise snow flurry—but it’s also one of the most affordable times to visit.

Trails start melting out, breweries are quieter, and you’ll find great hotel deals before summer kicks off.
