Destinations

This is where the practical stuff lives — what to do, where to stay, how to actually plan a trip to each place, from hiking the Alps to soaking in an Icelandic hot spring. Outdoor adventure shows up constantly.

Wellness runs through a lot of it too, but not every guide here is built around that — sometimes a solid itinerary or city guide is just that.

Below are the places I’ve spent the most time getting to know, and what’s actually worth building a trip around in each.

Oregon is my home base! It’s the destination I know best. Bend and the surrounding high desert are built for outdoor adventure — hot springs, hiking, and so much more, with a wellness scene that rivals larger cities.

Between geothermal lagoons, glacier hikes, and midnight-sun road trips, Iceland is the destination I’ve mapped most thoroughly — including 20+ hot springs, unique stays, and incredible nature excursions.

The French Alps, mostly through the lens of the Tour du Mont Blanc — one of the best long-distance hikes in the world, and everything you need to actually plan it: packing, refuges, and logistics most guides skip.

Santorini and the islands beyond it, minus the tourist-trap itinerary. Here’s where to actually stay, eat, and swim — plus an honest answer to whether the hype is worth it.

Utah is one of my favorite states — the beauty is jaw-dropping, and I’ve made several road trips through it. Right now the content here leans into the outdoor-adventure side of wellness travel: comfort-forward camping and where to stay when you want nature without roughing it. Salt Lake City’s actual wellness scene is next on my list to cover.

The Italian stretch of the Tour du Mont Blanc, same trek as France and Switzerland — plus yoga retreats in the hills of Tuscany, for when hiking isn’t the plan.

Right now the content here is about wellness practices — cacao ceremonies, temazcal rituals, and yoga retreats. I’ve traveled more of the country than what’s published (Mérida, for one), with CDMX and beyond still on the list.

I lived in Nepal for two months, including through the 2015 earthquake — an experience that eventually led me into emergency planning as a career. The content I cover here is based on the country’s longstanding wellness practices (meditation, yoga, and sound baths) and less so around what to do and where to stay.

Spain is the country I’ve spent the most time in — four months living there, plus two additional trips, most recently in 2025. The content here covers the retreat scene, from Ibiza to the mainland, plus a case for Barcelona.

The Swiss stretch of the Tour du Mont Blanc — same trek as the France and Italy tiles, different side of the border. If you’re planning the full loop, start with the itinerary guide and work outward from there.
